A Brief History of Cosmos...

• May, 1933 > Cosmos is born!
• April, 1963 > The second generation takes over the company and extends the service offering beyond print.
• June, 1973 > Cosmos is one of the first to adopt OCR and electronic typesetting output equipment to support the publishing industry.
• March, 1985 > Cosmos adopts a complete digital pre-press system to support their client's adoption of the Apple Macintosh and other DTP technologies.
• March, 1993 > Cosmos partners with Hoffman LaRoche and BMW to transform a medical imaging device into a digital camera for graphic arts photographic applications.
• Oct, 1994 > Seybold Seminars awards Cosmos their highest honor for excellence in digital photography for the development of Cosmos' Digital Camera.
• July, 1995 > Utilizing its knowledge in Digital Photography, Cosmos sets up in-house studios and then offers off-site facility management of digital photography studios.
• Sept, 1995 > Cosmos is one of the first commercial printers to adopt Direct to Plate and then introduce it to their clients. Direct to plate leads to a paradigm shift in the printing industry that results in improved quality, shorter turn-around times, and reduced costs.
• June, 1995 > Cosmos enters the Internet business with its first solution, Active Status. This web based production status system was introduced to clients for improved communications throughout the production cycle.
• Oct, 1996 > Cosmos offers E-commerce, content management and other E-solutions to clients to help them streamline their businesses and enhance their offerings.
• May, 1999 > Cosmos introduces ICC profiling to clients for consistent color on all output devices.
• June, 2001 > Cosmos and Repro Services form an alliance.
• Oct, 2002 > Cosmos, Repro and American Graphics form an alliance.
• 2003> Next generation content management solution MySuperfile™ Platform is developed and launched.
• 2004> Major photography equipment and studio upgrades and expansion of prepress and large format offering.
• 2005> 8 color perfecting press capabilities and expansion of search engine optimization services.
• 2006> Cosmos continues to expand its catalog marketing solutions offerings to include: expanded strategic marketing programs, branding, and online pay per click and organic search offerings.
